Thanksgiving

This Thursday past was the first Thanksgiving I ever attended at the home of a non-relative. It was so pleasant and peaceful. I brought Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Cracker and Olives. Enjoyed alongside Green Beans, Sweet and Sour Beets(!) and Salad. It was all delicious and satisfying without bringing on the customary depression...
dessert at the gathering was not vegan but I had purchased a locally-made Pie for $15 for my own desserts at home...
at first I thought the crust was too tough and the filling too sweet...
but after a couple days in the fridge it tasted better and I have just been eating slices by hand....
Pie pics that were in focus were lost when a dog fight erupted and my camera hit the floor...so the above food pics were taken with iphone and ipad. Still diving on most days off. Below are a couple Spotted File Fish just to mix things up a little...
For those wondering about my 'grabbing' dogs off the street, I should have clarified that there is a pet over-population problem on the Island. The Humane Society is overloaded and has to fly dogs to the mainland to find homes for them. The two Pups I found may have originated from somebody's home at one time, but the below Pup was starving, covered in fleas and had a terrible skin infection when I found him...
Sadie had already had at least one litter and has since been spayed and has begun treatment for heartworm. Heartworm is another common tragedy down here.
Thanks for looking. I will work to replace my camera for future posts since my iphone doesnt take the pretty pics like everyone else's. Bye for now.

Fur Baby Influx

About a week and a half ago, I found this little lady wandering the waterfront...
grabbed her up, named her 'Sadie' and her wandering days are over...
last Thursday, I found this little piglet next to the dumpsters...
he worships his big brother, Calvin, even when bro barks in his face non-stop. He is still unnamed, but his days of scrounging around the trash bins are behind him...
through it all, Molly has been a champ. I have begun taking her to the beach with Calvin and she is getting brave enough to actually come stand in the water on her own and allow some waves to roll into her...
Unlike Molly, the Mr. is very unhappy with the recent arrivals, so it has been a stressful time. Below is a Tofu Sandwich recently enjoyed at Mafolie...
a Rock Beauty...Ommmm...
Trying to catch up. Bye for now.
