Another Buffet Approach

We did the $28.95 AYCE Buffet at Aqua Terra in the Marriott's Frenchman's Reef this morning. Below is the entrance...
the buffet had the usual fruits  -- no Mango or Papaya like Unknown has pointed out in the past. So odd that none of the buffets have it when it is literally growing right outside the door...
the assortment of Dried Fruits and Nuts were an imaginative idea. There were even Pepitas!
I believe all breakfast buffets should have Grits and this place did them justice. Skin on top, lumps and everything...
I asked if the Oatmeal was made with milk, they said 'no', but it sure looked like it was so I avoided...
lots of non-vegan sweet breads...
with an admirable array of toppings...
more mainland fruits...
gluten-free cereals...
tropical juices...
so on to me...I had a yuuuuuge glass of Orange Juice...
I had determined ahead of time not to fill up on a Bagel, instead I went with Breakfast Potatoes and Pineapple (because I thought the Pineapple might be local, but then the Mr. said it probably wasnt cuz all their food probably came from the same supplier off island)...
and some Grits. Not the best meal value to say the least, but a very nice buffet for those who can sock away a lot of food...
service was lovely and the view from our table was pleasing but I cant justify a return...
by lunchtime I was ready to hit De Coal Pot for the 'Veggie Delight' with Steamed Vegetables and Ground Provisions (like Potatoes but local)....
after lunch I popped into Moe's Market and saw a ginormous Artichoke for $5.49. Thought I would risk it, although what it went through in transit to get here god only knows. I steamed it with an entire Lemon for an hour and it tasted surprisingly decent. The stem was fibrous, but the risk paid off...
a pretty shrub...
Hopefully will post more frequently, just having a hard time scraping together a cohesive theme for a post. Bye for now.
