C Is For...

The Mr. mailed down some stuff from the house in Virginia, including an old bag of my favorite Croutons that I had left behind...
so today I got a Salad from Fruit Bowl to enjoy them on. Amazing how few Croutons are vegan. Yes, I've tried making my own,  but they have always turned into little rocks. Great Salad...
as I noted in my previous post, I cracked/peeled some fresh-picked Cashews (they grow on the Island) on Tuesday. Since then, the skin on my thumbs and fingertips has been peeling continuously. Additionally, I apparently touched myself in some strange places after opening the Cashews, because I've had an outbreak of Poison Ivy...
Six bucks for a little bottle of Calamine Lotion! The same bottle would be 89 cents back in Virginia. I know because I used to buy it every year. Never thought I would need it down here, but it has really helped ease the itching...
and here is Baby Buttercup lounging on the bed this afternoon...
she looked so cute, I am posting two pics.
Lots more to come. Bye for now.

  1. Baby Buttercup is freaking adorable! And I love the creeper behind your croutons. It is amazing how hard it is to find vegan croutons, and like you I don't have the knack for making my own.
That's so weird to get poison ivy from raw cashews! And your finger!!!!

    1. Yeah the finger was pretty gross, but they finally stopped peeling. Hopefully no more gross photos posted here.

  2. I've just caught up on the cashew fiasco... Holy cats, I can't believe they didn't warn you, and now you have poison ivy! I hope it resolves soon. Horrible!

What other treasures did he mail down?! A TLT from True Foods?!

Sweet Buttercup deserves more than one photo!

    1. True Foods took the TLT off the menu at least seasonally. I TOLD you to get one and now look what happened! The other stuff mailed down wasnt very interesting, but there was some TJ's Organic Relish.

  3. I thought i posted a comment in the last post about those cashews but apparently not. So sorry about the cashews and the poison ivy! I have eczema and itching can totally drive a person crazy. Hope it goes away soon.
Buttercup does look adorable, and that salad looks very good. I've never tried to make my own croutons; maybe once from an old bagel.

    1. I think the itching is on its way out, but it can make one rather mental. God bless Calomine Lotion.

  4. Ooooh, croutons can totally make a salad. Love the kitty eyeballing the crouton bag in the photo.
WTF?! What an epic pain with this whole raw cashew itchy skin situation! Keeping the calamine in the fridge makes it even more helpful. Hope it all goes away quickly!
That may be the most adorable cat in the history of adorable black and white cats on beds photos :))

    1. I have thought about putting the Calamine in the fridge based on your recommendation, but somehow I feel like I might accidentally drink it. So weird.

  5. OMG that is crazy about the poison ivy! That is really irresponsible of them to leave them out and not warn you. That is horrible! I hope you are able to be rid of it soon. The salad does look lovely though and I'm sure the crunch of the croutons was thoroughly enjoyed. I've never tried to make my own croutons. I'll make my own breadcrumbs but I've never graduated to the croutons.

Buttercup is too adorable! I am glad you got two pictures because you are right, one just isn't enough!
