Marmalade on a toasted Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin for breakfast...
As part of our never ending attempt to exhaust Calvin, I signed us up for a 'Paddle With Your Pooch' activity.
We joined twenty people and their dogs (those without pups got loaners from the Humane Society) kayaking through a Mangrove Lagoon to a little Cay....
we weren't the slowest kayakers, there were others behind us! Yay!
Upon arriving at the Cay, most everybody went for a half hour hike, but we just hung out in the water with Calvin.
It was $25 per person, of which $20 pp goes to the Humane Society.
we found a really great stick for Calvin to fetch...
The event ended up tiring us out more than Calvin, he sat in the kayak while we paddled, but it was a memorable experience meeting all the pups and some of the wonderful Humane Society volunteers...
After all that exertion, lunch was a Veggie Burrito a Greengos...
Doubt I will be doing dinner after that. If all goes well, I will be blogging again tomorrow. Bye for now.
What an amazing day! I love that you spend the day with your pup and that pups from the humane society get to go on adventures. Even better that most of the fee goes to the humane society. I can't think of a better day. Calvin and his new friends are too cute!
ReplyDeleteThat burrito looks amazing!! I'm sure it was so satisfying after all of that activity.
It was an interesting experience. I think most of the pups enjoyed it. Definitely some more than others.
DeleteWhat an awesome day! So cool that people without dogs got a loaner, good for humans and dogs! Calvin is so adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI love that he loves to swim so much! Delicious looking burrito too!!
Calvin is like a fish in the water, still, nothing reduces his energy level.
Deletewhat a fun idea, and a great cause. I wish Haxan would come out on a kayak trip with me!! Is the dog in the pic of the other woman wearing goggles??? Hahha I love it. Hope Calvin made some friends.
ReplyDeleteThe water looks beautiful. The burrito dont look bad either.
Yes, that was Lucy wearing goggles. Her owner was the organizer and guide for the trip.
DeleteThe whole day sounds amazing!! I love the partnership idea, too. I have no doubts that Calvin absolutely loves his life, and you!
ReplyDeleteThe burrito looks like the perfect sustenance after an active day!
Calvin is way too hyper a dog for our lifestyle, but fortunately, the Mr. is dealing with him better these days so it isnt as stressful.
DeleteWhat a fantastic event!! I'm impressed the local humane society does that, and hopefully a "loaner" pup or two found some new parents ;) Calvin's energy is enviable! That burrito looks delicious and crammed full of goodies.
ReplyDeleteI had a pickle bloody mary today! There was pickle brine in it and a slice of pickle for garnish with the olives. Good stuff.

I am so hoping and praying some 'loaners' got adopted. They could not have been sweeter.
DeleteI have done a couple more Bloody Mary's recently but didnt take pics. Havent seen Pickle Brine as an option, but a few places down here have 'make your own' Bloody Mary bars with Olives, Limes, Hot Peppers, Old Bay etc. A good deal for folks that drink more than one. I am not sure how you would like them, seemed good to me.
I would totally love a DIY bloody mary bar! There are a few places here who have that but they're rather fancy a$$ spots which don't appeal for brunching.
