Some Notable Meals From The Past Week

Yesterday's lunch of Soup and Salad at Virgilio's was one of the best I have had in a while...
the restaurant lighting is romantic, not conducive to food photography...
Black Bean Soup...
this messy thing is the Veggie Roti at Jen's Island Deli. Interesting depth of flavor. I really liked it...
On Sunday, we took the ferry over to St. John and gave Cruz Bay Landing a second chance. Last year we tried eating there, were ignored for 20 minutes and left. This time we got good, fast and friendly service at the bar. We both had their Tofu Scramble (with side of Guac). Maybe I am still a little bitter about last year, will probably go back to doing the Sunrise Smoothie from St. John Scoops on future St. John visits...
On the home front, been sticking to carryout from Louie's Market. Large portions last for days and taste great. Hope they keep it up.
An Orchid for sale at Phantasea Botanical Garden. More to come. Bye for now.

Mixing It Up

Been eating at Great Wall a lot lately, so a couple weeks ago I threw caution to the wind and requested the Kung Pow chicken with Tofu instead of chicken....
Not a problem! So glad I asked, I have been ordering it this way several times since then...
Carried out from Barefoot Buddha, a 'Mediterranean Sandwich' with Hummus, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, fresh Tomato, Red Onion and Spinach. Serviceable...
from Louie's Market, a Veggie Burger with Spinach and Plaintain...
A Tofu and Black Bean Burrito to celebrate the 4th at Melt. The Mr. really likes this place, but I am not a fan, I just went to be congenial...
Two Genips! Not the most interesting post, just trying to stay in the game. More to come. Bye for now.

Louie's Market

Louie's is a recently renovated and expanded market in Smith Bay...
looks much better than it used to, but it never would have crossed my mind to shop there...
till the Mr. noticed the word 'vegan' on their scrolling neon sign...
Fully expecting to be let down, we entered and lo and behold!
they prepare two hot vegan food items daily!
my first order of Dogs and Cabbage with Pasta was super delish!
yes, they used Loma Linda products, but I happen to like that stuff...
another day was Fungi and Veggie Burgers...
this was my first time ever enjoying Fungi. Even the Okra in the Fungi was good!
today I picked up more faux mystery meat and some Pasta Puttanesca...
this is my kind of eating! Any vegans coming down to St. Thomas and heading to Coki Beach should stop at Louie's for a platter. Highly rcommend!
An orchid at Phantasea Botanical Gardens. Thanks for looking. Bye for now.
