Vegan Food Fair Day Two

Surprisingly, it was the Mr. who informed me we were going back to the Fair for day two. Guess that meant he enjoyed it. Since I had bought a lot of produce on Saturday, I viewed the return as my big opportunity to try to take better pics of what was offered. I wasnt able to capture the scale of how many vendors were there, but, whatevs, I started off with a refreshing Soursop Juice...
pondered the Salt Lamps for sale...
checked out Natural Livity's offerings: BBQ Gluten, Chili Garlic Tofu, Almond Cheese Mac & Cheese...
Pea Fritters and Steamed Vegetables...
Queen B had a menu up today...
other menus were quite similar...
below was a local newscast being recorded about the fair..
the Mr. snacked on an ear of Grilled Corn $3...
and a bowl of Ital Soup...
Fried Cauliflower for my snack...
I studied these baked goods, but resisted...
did not resist getting an order of Mac & Cheese to go...
here are two pics of people buying
and two...
outside the fair, some enterprising folks who happen to live nearby set up businesses in front of their houses. The boy on the left was selling soft drinks, snacks and plants...
he also had a pile of Noni Fruit. I bought a Papaya Tree for $5...
Coming up next: all the produce I bought. Bye for now.

  1. Whoa, what is in that Ital soup? It looks like strawberries.
Did you ask how the mac and cheese was made? It looks really good.
Nice little cauliflower fritters too. I don't know what the prices are like on that down there these days but here a head of cauliflower is going for $6!! So i haven't had much of that lately.

    1. I thought it was Watermelon in the Soup, but apparently it was some mystery root vegetable like you enjoy. The Mac & Cheese looks like it was made with Coconut Milk, I havent eaten it yet. I read that Cauliflower has become outrageously expensive.Bummer.

  2. How cool! That's fun that the Mr. was into it and wanted to go for day 2! Everything looks really great. The juice flavors look so great, I definitely would have gotten one too. Your fried cauliflower looks amazing too. Fried cauliflower is one of my favorite things. I found a recipe for a baked version and it looks great so I'm probably going to give that a try! The mac n cheese looks pretty amazing too. I'm impressed that you were able to resist the baked treats. They look yummy!

    1. I have started my new dessert trolley down here. No shortage of local baked goods down here. I will post on them soon.

  3. i am so glad you got that mac; I was really wondering what had gotten into you!

    1. I have eaten more Mac & Cheese since going vegan than I ever did before in my entire life.

  4. Wow, thanks for the pictures! Looks like it was an incredible event!

    1. You have lots of time to make your reservations for next year!

  5. What a great fair! I would want to go back too :) those menus would make it so hard to make a choice... That fried cauliflower looks amazing. I hope your papaya tree thrives!

We went to westville for brunching, the east village location, good old standby with lots of great veggies and a good bloody mary :)

  6. I read about salt lamps once. Everytime you show pictures of those pea fritters I want some! The fried cauliflower looks delicious.

  7. Thank you for another great article. Where else could anyone get that kind of information in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I am on the look for such information. easy vegan lunch
