Sedate Sunday

Mandatory taking it easy this weekend. Breakfast this morning was the Tofu Scramble at Shoreline Bar and Grille. Much better than last time, but the side of Avocado was horrific yet again. Learned my lesson not to waste $4 on that when there are fresh Avocados being grown here as I type this...
earlier, the Mr. had enjoyed a shore dive with Coki Dive Club. Below is the Dive Shop Cat, Sadie, whom I met while waiting for him to finish. So sweet and friendly...
I thought this was an adorable little fruit stand on the road to Coki Beach, so I took a pic. Someone inside yelled, "Who say you can take a picture?!" Scared me off...
in the afternoon we went to see a replica of a Spanish sailing vessel that is currently docked in St. Thomas...
it was $10 pp to tour, and lots of folks were paying up...
personally, I didnt think it was worth it (Admiral's quarters below)...
I would have much preferred to tour the yacht next door...
Sabra Hummus with some Mediterranean Style Crisps for dinner...
a locally made Brownie for dessert...
very rich. They did a great job!
some sweet yellow flowers blossoming in the cracks of the road...
More to come.  Bye for now.

  1. Ugh, $4 for crappy avocado?? That sucks. The scramble looks great though.
What crazy cares that you took a photo of the fruit stand? So what...?! Weird that would be in any way offensive.
I would totally pay $10 to tour that yacht too! Haha. I actually watched that old movie again "overboard" with a really young goldie hawn and kurt russel not long ago- it's really fun if you haven't seen it, she's touring around in a fabulous yacht when they first meet.
    Great find with the brownie

    1. This $4 'Avocado' ...it must have been frozen and defrosted in the microwave. I took a pic, but didnt think it would be fair to the restaurant to post it.

Yeah, I dont think they took it as a compliment that I was photographing their stand. Had they not yelled, I seriously may have bought some Bananas! (sorry, I mean Tomatoes!)

I did see Overboard when it first came out. Glad those two stuck together.

  2. Sadie is so sweet! I had to laugh at someone yelling about the picture from the fruit stand. I am always paranoid taking pictures in public because I feel like I'm going to get yelled at. That would have definitely scared me off!!
    That brownie looks really tasty!

    1. I still get a little paranoid about taking pics. It gets bad when you know the pics arent coming out and you have to take more than one.

  3. Very jealous of your move and would one day love to be brave enough to do something similar.

Does the brownie say white chocolate then at the end cont: milk?

    1. Thanks, Susan! It didnt take bravery to come here because I knew no matter what happened (except a hurricane, but they have those in Virginia as well) it would be better than where I was.

I believe the ingredient on the Brownie label it meant to be Coconut Milk. It is a strange list of ingredients.

  4. Hilarious about the fruit stand! Your weekend was definitely more exciting than mine - ship tour and all!

    1. I only did the ship tour cuz you and FF are always going to museums and other cultural type things. Totally not my bag.

  6. What a sweet looking cat.
I thought those were raspberries on top of the brownie - bet that would be good.
I get really nervous taking photos of establishments too but it sounds like it happens a lot down there. I wonder why?

    1. The 'no pictures' issue is something I have experienced on other Caribbean islands as well. Once I was taking pics of some Pelicans in St. Kitts and a man started yelling "No pictures!" and I wasnt even taking his picture!
