the Bread Basket is $3, but well worth it...
the one Roll I nabbed was fresh and warm...
Olives were the only vegan item on the Tapas list, so I ordered a bowl...my Vegetarian Plate was overloaded with an assortment of perfectly grilled Vegetables. They left off the fish sauce they normally use in this dish. Yes, a weird thing to use in a vegetarian dish, you never know what goes on in kitchens...
now pics from last Sunday at Phantasea Botanical Gardens...
I bought a yearly pass so I intend to go monthly to see what is in bloom...
always some exotic Orchids to gawk at...
but some are too far up to get a good look...
others I am just not able to capture the full beauty of...
All kinds of stuff coming up. Bye for now.
The third flower down is sooo gorgeous. They all are but that one really caught my eye. Man talk about being surrounded by beauty!
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of beauty to be found. Mankind has sort of ruined being surrounded completely by it.
DeleteThe orchids are so beautiful!!! If I didn't like looking at flowers I wouldn't have them tattooed all over me so I mean it when I say I'm looking forward to seeing the flower pics :)
ReplyDeleteThat meal looks delicious! Well minus olives but you know that's personal taste. The bread looks so fresh and yummy and the grilled veggie plate looks perfect!!
I have only seen some Cherry Blossoms on you, what other flowers do you have?
DeleteWow, that's awful that they lie on the menu about a dish being vegetarian when they put fish sauce on it. Do they list it as an ingredient on the menu, or did you have to ask directly?

Delete'Plato Vegetariano' it is called. Fortunately, the server volunteered the info about the fish sauce when I said I was vegan. I doubt adding fish sauce would have enhanced the flavor anymore,
DeleteGood gazpacho is amazing! There are actually a number of different preparations, versions with more olive oil are very smooth and rich, or there's salmorejo which uses bread as well. And there's a version in northern spain with almonds.
ReplyDeleteAnyways. Great meal! Really good bread is worth paying for vs free crappy bread.
Those flowers are just spectacular, what a great resource to have nearby

DeleteAside from LPQ, I have mainly had not so great Gazpacho in my life. Now if only I can have great Eggplant and Beets, that would be nice. Did you drink the family Grogg? Bake anything good?
DeleteI think the grilled vegetable plate looks fantastic! How funny that vegetarian includes fish sauce. Ha ha! Glad they left that out. The gazpacho sounds yummy; cold soup makes me long for summer. Beautiful flowers! Hopefully the pups cooperate soon!
ReplyDeleteCome back! Hope your Christmas was merry! xoxo
DeleteI am here, just dont know how to put together a cohesive post when not just posting my daily eats. It's HARD! who knew?
DeleteThe expression on that hawk's face is hilarious. Still not on board the gazpacho train, but if you say so. I'm really into dipping bread in oil these days and I've been gifted an amazing spice blend that kicks it up twelve notches of awesomeness; highly recommend.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the Gazpacho at Le Pain Quotidien? Unknown got me hooked, but in a good way. Course you'll have to wait till summer but I am sure you'll remember...
DeleteEven hawks succumb to laid back Caribbean vibes...good to know!
ReplyDeleteFood and flowers all look very pleasant indeed!
Merry Christmas Shen!
Merry Christmas! why arent you picking up the blogging slack?!
