Virgin Gorda

We took the ferry to Virgin Gorda yesterday to do something special before the Mr. returns to Virginia on Sunday. Below is a view of Spanish Town in VG...note the airport runway...
the ferry departed St. Thomas at 8am....it was almost 11am by the time we docked in Virgin Gorda, got through immigration and rented a car. We were thirsty and starving. Made a beeline for Mad Dog's at The Baths...
my Lettuce, Tomato and Mustard Sandwich (a BLT without the B)...
with a Painkiller...
feeling restored, I meandered around outside...the restaurant exterior...
so peaceful...
the menu...
then we hit the road to explore the rest of the Island. Below are the ruins of a Copper Mine that flourished in the 1800's...
I believe the below pic is of Mosquito Island and Prickly Pear Island...
so after lots more exploring, we headed back to the harbour to catch the 3pm ferry. We had time to squeeze in a quick meall and lucked into The Bath and Turtle just because of it's location at the harbour. I do need to stop ordering these Painkillers. They are delicious, but expensive and no real kick. It is just what I feel one must drink in the Islands...
my Garden Salad was excellent. The Lime Viniagrette dressing had honey in it though...
the Vegetarian Chili was so outstanding that we will be returning to Virgin Gorda just for this dish...
We were quite the sweaty messes by the end of the day, but cant wait to return to this beautiful, peaceful Island with the great Chili.
Thanks for lookin. Bye for now.

    1. It is mindblowing to see for real. Like I said, might be easier for you to get to Hawaii to experiece the tropics.

  2. What a beautiful day!! That water is insane, I don't think I've ever seen water that color blue! I love pictures of ruins so that was really cool to see. I could totally use a margarita right now, especially after seeing your yummy looking painkillers. What an amazing day.
