Essential Health Foods Plus

Been driving past this place in Tutu since I've been here and finally just happened to go in this week. I assumed it was just a lot of vitamins and supplements, but I have been missing a lot...
clean and spacious with lots of goodies like bagged nuts, dried fruits and grains...
there is a freezer with unique vegan items I have never seen before as well as Soy Delicious Ice Cream...
a little deli in back for freshly made Sandwiches and Smoothies...
I got a Bologna Sandwich to go...
Nice being able to see that one is actually getting Vegenaisse like the menu says...
while the Sandwich was being made I browsed all the Worthington/Loma Linda products...
they sell that popular Dr. Bronner's Castille Soap...
what I ended up buying: Tuna, Carrot Cake, Green Drink and Carob Almonds...
the Green Drink was certainly not to my taste. Wont be getting that again...
the Bologna Sandwich with Soy Cheese was a nice change of pace. I could tell they used high quality bread like Ezekiel...
the Carob Almonds are still being enjoyed and perhaps I will finally unwrap the Carrot Cake tonight, but I can already tell I'm gonna like it...
Gotta go back with a cooler next time. Lots more to come. Bye for now.

  1. Essential Health Food Store looks like they carry some essentials! And a sandwich shop in the back - yes, please! I bet the carrot cake is awesome.

  2. "Fishless tuna"?! How bizarre. Have you tried it yet? I don't know if I would. I don't like the smell of tuna in the least.

    1. I have yet to try it, but will post on it when I do. The can is in the cabinet so it is easy to forget about. Hopefully, this week I will remember.

  3. That looks like the place that might eventually carry the vegan Ben&Jerry's!! That sandwich looks really good. They didn't skimp. I don't know why, but I have never been able to make sandwiches look as amazing as some "sandwich artists" do. That drink has a lot of grasses in it, looks super green to me.

    1. There is no shortage of Ben & Jerry's down here, I am just concerned that the vegan B&J's will be here and I wont recognize it amongst the dairy B&J's. Hope the containers are noticeably different.

    1. I heard about Lula's closing. My condolences. I bet it will be missed even more in the summer time.

  5. So is there a version of Amazon Prime that delivers to the VI, or do you have to pay outrageous shipping if you want stuff delivered that's not available on the island?

    1. Shipping is not outrageeous here, same as in the contiguous, however, not all companies ship outside the 48 states.

  7. I was getting out of shape, so I decided to make a change and do some research on getting my core system and "guts" back into shape before working on my muscles. Green energy drinks helped me with that.

  8. That's a mighty fine looking sandwich, but the no-frills aesthetic seems prevalent in most shops/restaurants. Guess they can't compete with the natural landscape!
