Weekend Eats

We were determined to eat at  De Coal Pot, so it was back to St. John yesterday. Breakfast was at St. John Scoops...
got the Green Detox and the Mr. got the St. John Sunrise....
While mine was great and super satisfying, the St. John Sunrise was even tastier...
after renting a Hobie Cat at Cinnamon Bay, we made it to De Coal Pot. The Rum Punch was nice and strong, as usual. I got a second one 'to go' for the ferry ride home, it is legal to carry an open container in the Virgin Islands...
My Veggie Delight platter was well worth the trip (although a sister restaurant is in the works on St. Thomas, so fingers crossed it actually opens)...
Breakfast this morning was at Gladys'. I enjoyed the bowl of Fresh Mango...
and a bowl of Grits...
being Super Bowl Sunday, I had to have some Guac, so off to Greengos for the Veggie Burrito. Awesome and very filling...
as with yesterday, I doubt there will be any dinner tonight. Bye for now.

  1. Everything looks so great! It seems like for the most part you are having major success with finding vegan friendly restaurants and food. I'm really craving a burrito now!

  2. great looking stuff. mango and grits for breakfast sounds like a good start.
do you know what was in the St. John's sunrise smoothie? it sounds like the name
of the one you used to get in VA but obviously no spirulina here.

    1. Not all Sunrise Smoothies are the same apparently. Next time I go, I will watch as they make the Smoothie. It is worth recreating if you can.

  3. Yuuuuuum!!!! I definitely would love to have that rum punch, mango and burrito!! It all looks so amazing! Island life is always appealing, but it is even more so after shoveling snow. I could definitely use a few of those rum punches;)

  4. I think this is the most I've seen you eat in a day! Now throw a few VT donuts on top of it and you'll have a me day.

  5. You guys really do have an impressive selection of smoothie shops! What's the difference between the st john sunrise and sunset smoothie i wonder...?
I need more rum punch in my life.
    And that burrito ...! Gorgeous.

Summer seems really far off now....sometimes there are vegan flavors at nonvegan shops like Grom but it's never as good.

    1. I wish I knew what made the Smoothies different from one another, but I am assuming (perhaps wrongly) that the answer will only confuse me more than I already am. I hear there is something called a Polar Vortex headed your way. Will it impact brunch I wonder?

  6. Yay! You had nachos on SuperBowl Sunday! I had hoped you would! I had some too salty tortilla chips and salsa, but thought about how you would want me to eat nachos.

Lovely beverages, and I long for your warm weather!

    1. Since we only have the toaster oven, we cant make Super Bowl Nachos anymore, but I was very satisfied with my late Mexican meal.

  7. This is going to sound terrible, but so jealous of the open carry! I got a boozy milkshake from Sticky Fingers and they couldn't give it to me to-go.
