Natural Food Grocery and Deli

This is the main Health Food Store on the Island. When I first moved down here, I was so freaked out by their prices, I didn't go back for many months...
additionally, I found the little deli in the back too confusing in terms of what was vegan and what wasnt...
in recent months, I've come to appreciate this store and their prices no longer seem so unreasonable...
they offer a Sandwich of the Week, Chickpea Burger below, which I have learned how to order via the simple order form...
As you can see, they are extremely generous with the Lettuce. Too generous. I am still learning how to consume their Sandwiches without everything falling all over the place. Tofu Sandwich...
one item which I absolutely cannot fault them on is their Vegan Chili. Not too spicy and full of big pieces of fresh cut vegetables. I see many bowls of this in my future...
speaking of the future, things looked way up for me yesterday whilst browsing Plaza Extra....
Both Chunky Monkey and Fudge Brownie have made it down here!
Now I can finally experience what mainlanders have been enjoying for months. The Chunky Monkey was so rich, I loved it. Will try the Fudge Brownie tonight. Lots more to come. Bye for now.

  1. Yay for vegan ice cream!!
That chickpea burger sounds really good with the hemp seeds in there. That really is such a crazy amount of lettuce! You could just take it off put it to the side of the plate and call it a salad :)

Looks like it's a good thing you gave the spot another chance!

  3. Yay, you finally got the Ben & Jerry's!!! I'm so happy that it made its way down there and I'm glad you enjoyed it. That's great that you've grown to love the store and that they have really great vegan options. Everything looks delicious but that tofu sandwich looks especially amazing. Yum!

    1. Yes, now I can finally stop my bitching about not getting any vegan B&Js. That is good for everyone.

  4. I haven't tried the Ben & Jerry's you mention, so you are ahead of me! Ha ha!

Put down that spoon! No chili during the summer months - sacrilege! It was 102 degrees here yesterday. I can't imagine eating soup. Gazpacho, Shen, gazpacho!

You know I like lots of crunchy lettuce, so I'd be happy with that tofu sandwich!

    1. If you had told me I would be eating Chili down here, I never would have believed you. I have discovered Gazpacho on the menu at a restaurant I frequent, so that will be on my to-do list. It is hotter in Denver than the VI!. Keep your little man cool!
