Rained In

Must have gotten about ten inches of rain today, so I didnt go out. Breakfast was an Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin with Tofutti Cream Cheese...
tapped the freezer again for lunch...
the Verisoy Chicken Nuggets with Ranch Dressing was really great as well....
dinner took a turn for the worse...
my childhood memories of Spaghettios has not served me well as a vegan...
I havent had dessert yet, but it will probably be more Larry & Luna's Mocha Matcha. Wont buy it again, the cocoa nibs are too little and too hard for ice cream IMO, but the pint survived the trip down here well, so kudos for that.
Lots more to come. Bye for now.

  1. That's a lot of rain for an island! Did the cruise ships dock for a while or carry on? I have a childhood memory of Spaghetti-Os and macaroni with velveeta (sp?). I like to these those memories there, as I'm sure I shouldn't try to re-create them with my adult palate. Ha ha!

    1. No cruise ships on Friday. I dont know what would happen to those folks arriving in a monsoon like that? Roads were flooded. I supposed they could just stay at the port and shop.

Oh man, you got Velveeta growing up?! I never got that. Cracker Barrel Cheddar logs were the order of the day.

  2. That's a whole lotta rain!! Yeesh. I can't imagine anyone leaves their house when it rains like that. I actually don't think i have ever had spaghetti-os. Certainly a lot of spaghetti as a kid but not the canned stuff.
Too bad that was a let down. Exciting that you found some luna and larry's that survived the trip there! I can imagine that frozen cocoa nibs aren't quite right in ice cream though.

I've been bringing chilled soups for lunches because i am sooo over the lunch options near my office, especially the cost. We order from green symphony once or twice a week and i get my favorite smoothie (almond greens with blueberries instead of banana and i add vegan protein powder) but it's just a bit too far from the office to get there myself. (Work has been really crazy busy long days)

    1. My mother was not a great cook (contrary to her own opinion). Chef Boyardee was always a huge (very rare) treat. Not sure what it would taste like to me today.

So over the lunch options in Manhattan?! Sacrilege! (too lazy to check the spelling on that). Cant imagine not at least stocking up on carryout during the weekends to bring to the office during the week. You are so blessed, at least take advantage for me!

    2. I've basically worked within thr same five square blocks of where i went to college, so a loonngg time with lotsa lunches and delivery dinners at work from the nearby limited options.... I bring my lunches and then buy a good coffee- and the vegan choco chip cookies sometimes - at cafe grumpy.

  3. I always wondered about those spaghetti hoops. They definitely look a little lackluster!

  4. Wow, that's a lot of rain! I definitely enjoy a relaxing day in so hopefully it was nice and relaxing for you. The sound of rain is especially relaxing. Gotta love an english muffin but too bad dinner and dessert were disappointing.

I can imagine there are only a few things more terrifying than being stuck on a cruise ship in monsoon like conditions. Just the thought freaks me out!
