London, Baby!

Yes, that's right, we arrived in London this morning. 'We' meaning the Mr. came with me, leaving our babies in the care of a pet sitter (oh the guilt!)
I have been so busy planning and preparing for this trip, I havent been able to blog recently, but this post more than makes up for it...
so, anyway, we arrived at the Covent Garden Hotel this morning around 9am after walking by it and then asking for directions back to it...
our room wasnt ready so we had breakfast at their restaurant, Brasserie Max. My Vegan Breakfast - Crispy Tofu, Spinach, Baked Beans, Mushrooms and Potatoes - was exquisite...
the desk clerk sent us down the street to Covent Garden Market to kill time...
this recommendation could not have been more perfect. Lots of great vendors...
this was all manifestations of soap...
this street performer was so awesome...
he got three guys from the audience to help while he laid on a bed of nails, then had the one guy stand on top...
this guy is under a table pretending to be a dog...
which freaked out this little dog...
a Juggler starting up his act before drawing a crowd...
Neal's Yard next to our hotel...
got carryout from Punjab to take back to the room...
Aloo Gobi for me. My expectations were too high for Indian food in London I suppose, or else I am just used to inauthentic Indian food. Either way, did not taste good to me...
fortunately, we also picked up dessert from Lola's Cupcakes...
So excellent. Great for getting that Indian food taste out of my mouth too. Hope I can keep blogging through the rest of my trip, helps me unwind. Thanks for looking. Bye for now.

  1. YES!!! I love London, and I love that you AND the Mister went on vacation together!! I didn't make it through Neal's Yard on my last visit, thus I am so excited to see it through your visit! Oh my gosh, I can't wait to see what you do next.

  2. Ooohh!!! How exciting!! I'm so glad you and the Mr were able to go together:)) what a fantastic welcome to london breakfast that is! I'm sure you will find some good indian food while you're there, kind of a bunmer that meal wasn't good. I'm sure you have done lots of research on where to eat- that's always exciting when traveling! I was just reading about how there is an all vegetarian/vegan location of Pret a Manger in the soho area of London- they tried it as a temporary thing but then sales skyrocketed beating regular Pret locations so now it's permanent and they're opening more. I love those kinds of stories.
I hope you have good weather for the trip and enjoy it!!

    1. I just hope my babies can forgive me when I return. I am doubtful and trying very hard not to think of them.
