Fresh Coconut Water

It took a little over four months, but I finally synced up with the Coconut Guy in Tutu...
If I had known he provided empty jugs, I would have stopped months ago...
this is my jug he is filling... $25 for a gallon...
the below Coconut was being prepped for someone to imbibe right there, $2. You can see he removes just the top for drinking purposes...
whereas to fill the jugs, he hacks a big V shape in the center of the nut. Coconut water was being splashed all over, the nuts and their jelly are then just flung aside, but I guess it is too much effort to trying to salvage the innards...
a cold glass (condensation forming immediately) later enjoyed at home...
Here are some pics taken last Sunday at Phantasea Botanical Garden...
Oncidium Ampliatum...
a mystery orchid...
no clue what this was, but it was happy to see me.
Below is a little Bananquit that flew into our sliding glass door and then just sat there stunned for about five minutes before thankfully flying away.
Back with lots more soon. Bye for now.

  1. Wow, the day you finally met up with the coconut water guy probably would have been a great day to play the lottery! The orchid is gorgeous. I could stare at those flowers all day. So glad the adorable Bananquit was okay!

    1. I have been thinking about playing the lottery down here. It was a relief to see the little Bananquit fly off.

  2. Nice!! How amazing to literally watch the coconut water being "made"! I bet it's just the most refreshing drink ever....
I'm so glad that adorable bird was ok! What an amazing color he is. And I would visit those orchids often, they're so spectacular.

The mom in law is doing great, currently at a rehab hospital but will be released this week- she's already walking laps on the floor with a walker and down to minimal pain killers.
I did get my pumpernickel everything! I was mad though because the dumb shop literally had zero vegan options for topping ("butter??" "Uh, no .....") so i fixed it up at home with some tofutti. Really delicious.

    1. The fresh Coconut Water is very enjoyable to sit and sip slowly. Cant be guzzled for some reason. Glad the MIL is on the road to recovery. So the Bagel Shop didnt have PB or Jelly or Hummus? that is a definite bummer. $ lost to them as well. Hopefully brunch will be happening again this weekend and maybe MIL can hobble along.

  5. Ooooh fresh coconut water sounds so amazing! It's crystal clear! That guy doesn't look too happy though, haha. I also think that $2 for a freshly opened coconut is a pretty good deal too. Glad you are finally able to catch him!

Gorgeous flowers and birds! It's getting cold here, I'm totally wishing I was living the island life right about now!

    1. The Coconut Guy was all business. Really knew how to handle that machete.

Enjoy your Pumpkin and Spice season. It is pleasurable as well.
