Because the bread is baked fresh, 'The Veggie Lover' $10.95 Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions, Olives, Pickles, Peppers, Olive Oil, Vinegar, S&P (plus I got Jalapenos) doesnt need anything extra like faux meat or cheese to improve it. The Bread and fresh ingredients more than satisfy...
TFK also gave a generous portion of Kale Salad that was unbelievably fresh. I have yet to find a Kale Salad as great down here. Dont know how they do it...
plus they've got Curly Fries. Nuff said...
One of my most favorite Sandwiches back on the mainland was the Andy's TLT from True Food Kitchen. The below TLT was enjoyed by the Mr. back on October 28th...
he returned here on Monday with a big surprise...he had TFK pack up a TLT to go for me (on Saturday, not two weeks ago)...
I was unable to professionally reassemble it but damn if it didnt taste exactly the same. So incredibly delicious. Now that I know the Sandwich can be transported successfully, I can look forward to tasting this heavenly creation again in my life. Wonder what else I can have again? Common Market's Vegan Reuben perhaps...
the Uncle Eddie's PB CC Cookies that were sent via the post office didnt fare as well...
just Island food in the future. Bye for now.
That sub made my mouth water! It looks like what Subway's veggie delight wants to be! I'm so happy you can have that TLT!! What a thoughtful Mr. you have!! I know you must miss some of your favorites, so yay for successful transportation!
ReplyDeleteThe Subway Veggie Delight was always such a disappointment. Supposedly, they're going to start rolling out some other vegan options soon, so let's hope it happens.
DeleteI agree, bread is such an important part of a sandwich...fresh bread is the best.
ReplyDeleteSo fun that the Mr brought your fav sandwich back for you!
Seriously, a sandwich on fresh baked bread is on a whole nother level I dont recall ever experiencing before
DeleteYay that is so exciting about the TLT!!! How nice of the Mr. To bring it back for you. You must be so relieved to know you can still enjoy your favorite :)
ReplyDeleteThe Veggie Lover sandwich also links incredible. The only thing better than a sandwich stuffed with fresh veggies is a side of curly fries. Yum!!
Are those cookies melted or crushed?! I will find a way to get you some fresh baked cookies in tact because that's just ridiculous.
The Cookies kinda became one big Cookie. Still tastes great when I break off pieces to enjoy. If you have never had an Uncle Eddie's Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie, you MUST rectify that ASAP.
DeleteOooh, fresh bread makes any sandwich 10xs more amazing. Looks like a great sandwich for sure.
ReplyDeleteHow great the Mr brought you that TLT! I'm totally impressed with both him and the clever packaging. Maybe the island just hasn't figured out massaged kale salads yet... Your sad cookies! Uuugh...! That just sucks.
MIL is finally home, doing well, and under the watchful eye of a home healthcare nurse. We met up late today and proceeded directly to Terroir for wine and nibbles- between her MIL drama and my insane work schedule lately it was much needed.
Ttrockwood
I was concerned about eating a sandwich that had travelled 1,600 miles, but it could not have been any better if it was I was right there at the restaurant. Amazing their food can survive all that and still be great. Terroir looks fancy. I would have gone for the Olive Tapenade Bruschetta. So nice that you carve out some quality time every week for your friends.
DeleteHow cool that the mister brought you back a sandwich from TFK! And kale salad! It's not easy to get a delicious kale salad recipe.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it always about the fresh baked bread when making a sandwich!
And you have a TFK TLT right in your city and dont even partake. Unbelievable. Although you get a pass this week due to the blizzard I heard you're having.
DeleteEven melty Uncle Eddies PBCC cookies are better than none at all!!
