checked out Phantasea Botanical Garden after breakfast to see what was blooming this month...
lots of Orchids...
no clue what this is...
would have loved to get better pics of this one...
then it was off to Melt (literally and figuratively) for the Salad $11 with Seasoned Tofu, Black Beans, Pico de Gallo, Onions and Guacamole. Way too filling, so no dinner for me...
below are the 99 Steps. A historic landmark one must climb when visiting Charlotte Amalie...
that's about it, just trying to keep cool. Bye for now.
I love seeing pictures of all the flowers! My favorites this time are the pink fuzzy one, and the spotted orchid. I feel very peaceful looking at those flowers.
ReplyDeleteI am glad, it is peaceful walking through the garden there and even though I am not the best photographer, I like to share what I saw.
DeleteOooh the flowers are so beautiful! I can't even describe the jealousy I'm feeling for your weather and produce options right now :) Everything looks delicious! I bet you don't miss the mealy tomatoes. That salad looks incredible. Pretty pic of the 99 steps.
ReplyDeleteMealy Tomatoes still find their way here. I think no place is safe.
DeleteOh the joys of being closer to the equator! How hot has it been lately? The salad does look like a meal and a half, but absolutely delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI'm taking notes for my bucket list, and the Virgin Islands are certainly moving up in rank!
It is always around 86 degrees. I am getting 'soft'. Just walking through the refridgerated section of the grocery store is now freezing to me.
DeleteThe spicy poof looks like it can be in the allium family perhaps? $9 for that fruit bowl; eek!
ReplyDeleteI dont think the Poof is an Allium, although you did remind me of the Alliums I planted in Virginia that never came up. That is what happens when you buy bulbs on sale.
DeleteThat salad looks amazing! Now that is a proper vegan salad- no pile of sald leaves with shredded carrot silliness. How amazing to have access to such a beautiful assortment of exotic flowers- I imagine just wandering around looking at them is very calming....

Had to look up Charlotte Amalie as a potential future destination because it looks gorgeous. So now that you have been there awhile, would you say VI is more vegan-friendly than contintental US? For a small island it seems like you have lots of options!
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely more vegan friendly here. I assume because of the large Rastafarian and Seventh Day Adventist populations.
