Melt

There are four Subway Sandwich Shops on the Island, as well as Pizza Huts, Sbarro, McSh*ts, etc. So I was hoping Chipotle might be here....
Instead there is someplace even better: Melt!
A $7 Margarita made with fresh squeezed Orange Juice...
cant get all these choices at Chipotle...
the Guac is freshly made...
a Burrito Bowl with Seasoned Tofu $9 plus $2 for the Guac. A ginormous portion, as great, if not better than Chipotle, I swear...
keeping with the Mexican theme, a climbing Cactus plant near our house. The blossoms are as big as Grapefruits, very exotic...
more food pics coming. Bye for now.

  1. Umm...wow. I might agree that Melt is looking better than Chipotle! Look at that delicious tofu bowl! And chips and salsa and guac! (My iPad just autocorrected guac to Guam. When have I written about Guam?!) I'm more convinced to come visit by the day...

    1. Come visit! I can go crazy studying the left eye of all the young women to try to recognize you.

  2. Melt doesn't make me think "oh, medican food" as a restaurant name...! Totally looks better than chipotle though! Especially the drinks selection- your orange margarita sounds amazing. And i definitely prefer tofu cubes/chunks like that instead of the shredded super saucy version at chipotle. Looks like a great find!

I have to say when i visited italy it was very difficult eating out, there's just so much pasta with tomato sauce and green salad you can have. Surprisingly most of the little pizza places had versions with just tomato sauce and veggies, but no matter how fancy the coffee shop i never found one with any nondairy milk in milan.

    1. I agree on the name 'Melt'. They should be selling grilled (vegan) cheese sandwiches with that name. I was in Italy in my pregan days. it is hard enough now seeing the Mr. eating pizza, I would lose my mind over there if I couldnt partake. Not to mention the Fettucini Alfredo and, of course, the Gelato. Wonder if lactose intolerance exists in Italy? i suppose it must...

  3. All the restaurants there seem to really know how to cook tofu. That bowl looks delicious! I agree with unknown, I like chunks better than shreds. I think a margarita with fresh squeezed orange juice sounds so much better than the usual sour mix.

    1. I agree, Tofu is well regarded here. Maybe because it isnt an inexpensive item like in the contiguous States.

    1. The blossoms caught my eye before I even realized they were from a Cactus. Who knew such a plant existed? It should be more well known.

  5. Is the climbing cactus prickly? In a pinch you could wear one of those blossoms as a hat. Love burrito bowls, lucky to have a place that's generous with their freshly made guac and offers grog!

    1. I was semi-trespassing taking the pics of the Cactus. Couldnt examine it too closely. Are you a fan of Grog? I was just introduced to it almost three years ago by Unknown. Really gets one plastered.

  6. Yeeeeeeeeeeeesssssss!!!! This is awesome!! I think you lucked out, this looks way better than Chipotle. I bet the tofu is great in there. The guac looked nice and fresh too and you can't get better than that... until you add a margarita with fresh squeezed oj in it!

Those blossoms are gorgeous!! Very exotic indeed!

    1. Oh that is right, you already had your birthday margarita this year. Maybe next year you, too, can get a squeeze of fresh OJ in your bday drink.
