Barefoot Buddha is a popular place near where the cruise ships dock. Today, I got their Wrap Of The Day $11.25 Edamame Hummus, Thai Coconut Peanut Sauce, Shredded Carrots, Pickled Red Onions, Sprouts and Fresh Seasoned Spinach. It was pretty good...
but the inside is very nice and they have shaded outdoor garden seating...
Driving home I got stuck in a tiny bit of traffic, so I took this pic out the car window....
Below is the 'Veg Out' $8.75 made vegan. Had it about three weeks ago...Carrots, Sprouts, Avocado, Red Pepper, Red Onion, Mixed Greens & Tomato Coulis. Again, it was pretty good...
the most common bird here is the Pearly Eyed Thrasher...
this one was fascinated with some wet sand by the road...
I drive by this Cardinal Vine a lot. Really pretty...
Bye for now.
Both wraps look really good. I love anything with peanut sauce. It's really great that vegan food hasn't been an issue. Everything is so beautiful there. Does life feel more relaxed on the island, like they always say?
ReplyDeleteLife is somewhat more relaxing. Maybe it will take a while to get into 'Island Time' mode.
DeleteI am totally diggin' on those wraps, love it crammed with colorful veggies. Nice place to get stuck in traffic -is there even really that much traffic on the island?
ReplyDeletethe main strip in front of the capitol is usually pretty busy. I just focus on the blue water. Thank you so much for the CoCo Jack information! It is just what I need!
DeleteIt looks like a great little spot!! Grab and go vegan grub is always a good thing!
ReplyDeleteAt least you have a great view during the traffic! Is the Mister still handling the driving?
I can't get a good shot of birds, but you have had a lot of luck capturing these beauties!!
The Mr. is still up in Virginia. Been gone three weeks now. I have been driving all over by myself! Hard to believe.
DeleteOooh this place looks really great! The wraps look really yummy and packed full of fresh produce. Patio seating is the best, I can definitely imagine a leisurely lunch and refreshing beverage out there :)
ReplyDeleteWHat a stunning view! The water is so blue. We have a lot of beaches here but the water sure doesn't look like that! Love the birdie shots too!
The blue water is one of the main reasons I came here. I love looking at the Caribbean.
DeleteOooh that looks so good, nice that they use edamame hummus and so many veggies in there. Sounds expensive by a few bucks but maybe that's because of where they're located?
ReplyDeleteThe view from your traffic jam is unreal..... Any swimming lately?
I think that bird has scary eyes! Like he's looking through you...probably just too many stephen king books make me skeptical about birds.
I went to greenpoint brooklyn last night! It was an epic subway adventure (3 diff trains)for a good friend's bday at a cutsey hipster bar called broken land with a nice back patio. And then we went to the famous paulie gee's for pizza-there are like six vegan pizzas!!! I totally ordered my own and loved the leftovers today. Biking and brunching tomorrow:)
Ttrockwood
I only swim on Saturday and Sunday at Magen's Bay. Maybe when the Mr. returns, I will go out after work to swim or to try taking a pup to the beach.
DeleteI agree, the Pearly Eyed Thrasher is not the tropical bird I was anticipating. More like a bird I would see in Virginia.
Greenpoont is where the show 'Girls' is set I believe. Supposed to be majorly hipster. Another one of those times where i wished you blogged so I could see the pizza, but I get it. Hope there was a good Bloody Mary at brunch.
Cute birds! I like the long beaks.
ReplyDeleteI'm really into peanut sauce these days so that first wrap sounds really good. stuffed with hummus too. Kinda expensive though, but if it's worth it.
