Bumpa's

We originally planned to have breakfast at Natural Livity on Sunday, however, upon arrival, discovered that for the month of July they are closed on Sundays..
So we walked over to Bumpa's. A very cute open air space overlooking the harbour...
You order at the counter and then they call your name to go pick up your food..
a bunch of Coast Guards were eating next to us. Below is their ship docked right in front of the restaurant...
The menu is small and the Oatmeal is pre-made with milk. I could have gotten a Smoothie (Banana, Mango or one other kind) $6.50, but they said they are from a pre-made mix, so I opted for a Toasted Everything Bagel $3.50 (with Grape Jelly) and Iced Tea $2.50...
they have Veggie Burgers for lunch, but I didnt ask if they are vegan. The best part of breakfast was the view, not only of the harbour, but also this parking lot below...
observing this hen with her babies when a rooster approached. She was having none of it..
the rooster got the message and took off and the little chicks quickly reconvened around mom...
I have been noticed a severe deficiency in vegan desserts on the Island. Fortunately, alcohol is about half the price down here, so this Dutch Chocolate Vodka helps fill the void after dinner...
and here is Thumper trying to communicate with me through the sliding glass door...
Lots more to show tomorrow. Bye for now.

  1. I seem to recall a place you frequented a couple of years ago, where you usually had a toasted bagel and BYOT (bring your own Tofutti). But before I recommend you do that... can you get Tofutti on the island? Can it be shipped cold? I don't know how these things work. But yes, you can't beat the view and the chicken soap opera. "I told you to get out, Patrick!" "But Lisa, I love you and the chicks!"

    1. Yes, that was really desperation bringing my own Tofutti Cream Cheese to a local restaurant. I have seen Tofutti in the stores here, which I will pick up soon, even though it is double the price. That Hen was very impressive. Glad i got pics.

I believe closed on Sundays for July is called "Island time"
No vegan desserts would drive me insane. Ya gotta start baking.

    1. we are slowly learning how having cruise ships in the harbour=things being open. Wont be baking at all. Mr. SV has made it clear I cannot turn on the oven. We have a stove and toaster oven now. Kinda like in Queens;-) The Bagel was great. The atmosphere may have influenced my opinion.

  3. Well natural lividity surely kicks some bumpa butt in the menu department.... (Smoothies from a mix?? No.)
Is there anywhere without a spectacular view??? Those chicks are too adorable to words, nice to see mom looking out for them.
I bet you could mix up some frozen desserty boozey thing- basically frozen chunks of mango and canned coconut milk. Call it sorbet :)

We'll have to fix this vegan dessert issue. Can you please e-mail me your address? Thanks! ;)

    1. I dont think anyone should be baking in July and August. You are always so sweet (no pun intended). Maybe this holiday season if you make that peppermint bark again...
