got several delicious meals out of it. No clue what Dinner Roast is made out of but it tastes fantastic...
the Black-Eyed Peas were nice and firm with excellent seasoning...
Picked up two orders yesterday: Sausage (not sure what it is called), Pinto Beans and Vegetables...
Dinner Roast, Okra & Spinach and Bean Curd Skin. Both carryout orders went through a bit of a rollercoaster ride home before being photographed...
the Sausage and Mixed Vegetables could not be more delicious! They have a talented chef working in their kitchen. Hope to see who is working that magic one day...
dessert last night was not from Natural Livity. Farmer's Market Banana Bread with Guava Jam. Loved the Jam, although, I like all Jams as far as I know...
Bye for now.
Everything looks so delicious, and also made with love. The dinner loaf looks like vegan spam, but in a good way. I've heard of bean curd skin, but I've never tried it. I'm glad your able to find some sweets for dessert!
ReplyDeleteThe Dinner Loaf is certainly a mystery. I would ask what it was made of but I already feel like a pain in the butt there.
DeleteWow, they are rocking it at Natural Livity! Everything looks really delicious. The plate of sausage, beans and mixed veggies looks really fantastic. I'm so jealous of that dessert! The jam looks heavenly and the banana bread is a nice thick slice. I think I see some banana bread in my future for sure :) I'm glad you've found some great places down there!
ReplyDeleteI am still missing PF Changs MaPo Tofu and TFK's TLT, but hoping that will eventually pass. There you have PF Changs right around the corner and you dont even take advantage of it!
DeleteThose are some great meals!! Somehow good beans are not easy to make, nice that they have good pintos and black eyed peas. Are you ever on Trip advisor? Writing them a nice review there would be a way to help vegan tourists find the place since it sounds like such a gem.
ReplyDeleteI actually found a dominican cafe in my neighborhood that makes awesome vegan black beans and yellow rice-almost unheard of but i called and asked in spanish and then asked again in spanish there (no chicken broth? No lard? No bacon? Etc- I didn't believe them at first!) for $5 i get like three meals worth!
I head to CA the last week of august, trying to squish as much fun as possible into the last bit of summer in the meantime:)

Good beans are definitely hard to make. Especially Black Eyed Peas. For me anyway. I read Trip Advisor and Yelp, but as you can see from the blog, I am terrible at describing food and how it tastes other than delicious, meh or harrable. I didnt know you could speak Spanish. Isnt a bummer when you feel suspicious of vegan food, like, they say it is vegan, but you still dont believe it. You can have fun when you return from CA as well! It will still be scorching I am sure.
DeleteI am impressed with Natural Livity as well! So does the menu change weekly/daily or are you ordering different stuff each time? I need to up my game in the kitchen. I've been very repetitive and boring (thus lack of posts this week - not much of interest!). I've seen some Soy Chorizo at TJ's that I should totally turn into tacos... Speaking of TJ's, the Mister should fill up his suitcase of your favorite non-perishables on his next VA trip!
ReplyDeleteI wondered why I hadnt seen a post of yours for a while. I think Natural Livity changes up their food every day. The only constant are the Smoothies and the Veggie Burgers. The Mister is still in VA. When he comes here, he has to carry a lot of computer equipment for work and personal, so dont dare ask for him to bring anything extra. I do miss TJ's Tiki Masala and Orange Morsels.
DeleteWho knew there was so much delicious vegan grub on the V.I.? Thank goodness you're checking it out for us.
