Mystery Food Truck

There are a lot of food trucks all over on the island. Found this one on a side street in Charlotte Amalie. If it has a name I dont know it...
the usual hot plates of vegetarian food were inside. The woman who runs the truck was extremely friendly, like most people here...
$8 for an assortment of items, including Rice and Lentils, Roasted Cauliflower, Pea Balls (fried balls of Pea Protein Powder, I guess like Falafel) and Tofu in BBQ Sauce...
she threw in a free Mango from one of the many she picked from her tree...
separated out Western style. The Pea Balls were moist throughout, not dry and crumbly, so she knows her cooking...
another meal of just the Tofu and Rice. Several meals for $8 worked out well...
I have also been using my glass straw...
here it is with some Peanut Punch in the car. The problem with the straw is that you have to remember to carry it with you and then, after using, you have to be careful not to throw it away before you get it home to wash. But I am glad I got it cuz there is just so much trash...
Bye for now.

  1. I have got to make some BBQ tofu! It looks so good. I could see me throwing away a glass straw in an instant!

  2. Mystery Food Truck is good, or perhaps The Red Vegan Wagon - RV Wagon for short! You can suggest that, and if she decides to use it, I won't ask for royalties. ;)

I'm feeling inspired by your recent life change, and I want to do more exciting travels as soon as I can. Or when I pay off the furnace/hot water heater. So, October. Ha ha!

But really lots of delicious meals for $8!

    1. Good for you being fiscally responsible. You have a good head on your shoulders. While you're paying off the furnace/hot water heater, you can get on the Groupon Getaways or Living Social email lists to start getting an idea of places and prices.

  3. What a great find! Is the truck there regularly?? Impressive that the pea protein balls were so good, sounds like that could go either way....the tofu looks great too. How wonderful and yet bizarre to have so many friendly people with yummy vegan food! The bonus mango is awesome.
I'm impressed with your glass straw, i'm fairly certain i would have dropped it and broken it or lost it within the first 24hrs.

Never say never!! Just your next nyc trip hasn't happened "yet" :))

    1. The Mango was delicious! i was sorry it was so small. Best not to eat them like an Apple i have learned. The Glass Straw has a lifetime guarantee, not sure what that means. I bet that flying from here to NYC would actually be quicker and less stressful/dangerous than driving from Virginia would be. Who knows? Speaking of which, arent you due for a flight home soon? Over Labor Day?

  5. Does that mango look like it's smiling? A long crooked smile with two close set eyes...
