Yabba's

Yabba's is another little Rastafarian spot in Charlotte Amalie (towards the east end of the cemetery, not easy to find)....
I was trying to get pic of the innards (just a counter) from the outside, but the door shut...
these pics were taken last Tuesday. I got a large order to go for $14...
the pics dont do the food justice. It was all fantastic and actually got better with time...
I know this because I am still eating it over a week later...so $14 for several meals is a great deal...
after work this afternoon, we went to Dorothea Bay because we heard dogs are allowed...
the beach was completely deserted...
except for lots of Pelicans...
but of course, Molly would not go near the water...
maybe she got enough smells to entertain her dreams tonight...
a gorgeous succulent beach plant. There were little purple flowers, the camera didnt pic them up...
a last glimpse at least we tried...
an Orange flowering plant...
Still settling in. Ups and downs. Bye for now.

  1. Jabba's looks like another great find! Fun to have so many choices. Is it far from your house?
How amazing to have the beach to yourself like that... It looks so peaceful and relaxing. I don't understand dogs who don't love water since we had black labs growing up- and they literally sprinted towards any and all water- really amusing actually. I'm sure molly still enjoyed the stroll and scenery:)

    1. We are on the north side of the island and Yabba's is on the south, but it aint too far;-) I sure was hoping to see some doggie swimming. Wonder if Jaggers is into swimming? he seems more into mountain climbing.

  2. Ooooh the food from Jabba's looks really great! $14 is a great price when you get several really tasty looking meals out of it. Is that tempeh? Looks awesome!

The beach is so incredibly gorgeous. You are living my dream of living on the beach and I'm so loving experiencing it vicariously through you. Sweet Molly, I love these pics! I'm sure she'll try out the water once she gets used to it :) The flowers are so beautiful and I do spy some purple flowers in the succulents!

  6. Delicious looking food from Yabba's! Is it sold by container or weight?

The beach looks like a postcard! Molly was probably having the time of her life!!

Up and downs?! Hopefully more ups than downs....How was it to work from the island this week? Awesome?!

    1. The Ital places sell the food by container size. it is hard not to get overexcited seeing so much vegan food, so one instantly says 'Large' when 'Small' is more than enough. Working from the Island has been better than working from Virginia. Just cuz it's not Virginia.

  7. I miss Caribbean food, use to go to a place in the city after shows -mostly for the drinks but also taro and plantain and the jerk spices, so good! That is the happiest dog pic, if the water was full of pelicans I say Molly is pretty smart to not bother them!

  8. what beautiful flowers and succulent! I only like beaches when no one else is there, but that never happens here. Would you go in the water?
Yabba's looks great. Is that some sort of ceasar salad in there?

    1. I probably would have gone in the water if I was wearing my bathing suit. I think there was Caesar Salad but, again, it was all very overwhelming and I will need to go back and really study everything closely.
