Yabba's Revisited

Picked up a $14 Large Order from Yabba's today...
here was the hot bar they served from. I just said, "give me whatever is vegan" because I was double parked...
some color to begin...
later, brown food -- my favorite!
more brown food for dinner. There was Cauliflower, Plantains and Seitan...
lots left over for another day...
Yabba's is located across from the cemetery in Charlotte Amalie. Diagonal from this tombstone...
hope to get close enough to it some day to see what it is all about...
these blue flowers are everywhere on the Island. Very common. Just none in my yard...yet...
Bye for now.

  1. That tofu looks like they know how to deliciously cook tofu. That tombstone looks a little creepy. Can't wait to hear what it's about.

    1. It really is a strange tombstone. I assume the person who died was an educator, but why would he be educating a cherub?

    1. Well, by double parked, I meant, parked on the street in front where there isnt parking permitted. Is that double parked? I dunno. Poley is maybe starting to perk up a bit. Getting his appetite back.

  3. What clever packing they did in that one box! I like your approach regardless of the reason, great way to try things you maybe wouldn't have ordered. I agree that tofu looks great....
Cemeteries creep me out. Same goes for statues in cemeteries.

They've had coconut almond milk for a long time now! I like the almond breeze version, plain unsweetened because there are a bunch of versions.
Can you get hemp milk on the island? Did you get a jug to go back to the fresh coconut water man??

I havent seen Hemp Milk but I havent really looked or even bought any plant based Milk yet. Just becausr Cereal is too expensive. I am definitely going to get to the fresh coconut water man in your honor and get a gallon to go.

  4. Yuuuuuuuum!!!! You've really been getting some great grub! I think the plate of cauliflower, seitan and plantains intrigues me the most. I LOVE plantains. Rice and beans is also a favorite of mine. It looks like they had a really great selection of vegan options.

I'm intrigued by the statue/tombstone. You have definitely made me curious.

Lots of love to Poley and the rest of your crew!

    1. Thanks for thinking of Poley. He is hanging in there on the antibiotics and prednisone etc. Want him with me for eternity.

  5. The green and purple salad is so pretty! I totally want to see more of the islands cemetery. That tombstone is curious and big too. So lucky to have so many take away vegan options. I love that you can just say 'Give me whatever's vegan' and it's a solid meal... solid is kind of a terrible word the more I look at it :/

    1. I do want to take pics of the cemeteries around here. They are above ground tombs and meticulously maintained. Solid. Solid. Solid. I am okay with that word.
