Yacht Haven Farmers Market

The Yacht Haven Farmers Market was really good today...
I bought a Tomato for a dollar from this stand...
which had lots of other interesting items for sale...
the stems in the bottles on the right were being sold as 'natural viagra'...
another stand...
I dont know what this was being sold as, but it was pretty...
the girl below was from St. John. She makes her own preserves and liqueurs from native fruits, so I bought some Guava Jam for $8...
V's Healthy Delights stand is all vegan. She specializes in Veggie Burgers...
I got a drink made of Tamarind, Guava and Ginger...
really refreshing....
two kinds of Veggie Burgers on the top shelf and Vegetable Johnny Cakes on the second shelf. I may buy some in the future, but I usually prefer soy based Burgers...
Salad...
Pastries and Cakes...
I bought some Banana Bread and a Pineapple Pastry...
Below is a flower that was really attracting a lot of bees. Hardly any bees or butterflies around here...
Bye for now.

  1. This is the best Farmer's Market!! I love all of the vegan options and homemade island food! So cool! Be careful - we might all be on a plane for a visit soon! ;)

Re: driving - look at you! Climbed right over that situation, and now fully mobile! I hope the Mister is back soon, and your island adventures continue!

  2. Awesome market!
That drink sounds super refreshing and hopefully the vegan pastries are up to par for you. Cool stand with all the local jams too. Dunno about the stuff crammed into jars......
Glad to know you're taking advantage of the gorgeous waters for swimming, I'm painfully jealous.

Isn't all of brooklyn hipster now?? Change of plans for brunch today, we ended up grilling on her terrace- nice that they did the veggies first before the omni stuff (whew), poor planning resulted in a lack of horseradish and celery salt so we made do with some rose :)

    1. Ha! There are actually now times in my life where one could feel jealous of it, I will admit;-) but I get the pangs knowing that i will never get to experience Brooklyn or Green Symphony. Wish I could have made one last trip happen.

That was very considerate of your friends to grill the veggies first. Things like that mean a lot. hope your friend's terrace was getting a good river breeze.

  3. I saw a show years ago(a dumb reality show i think) where a guy ate some kind of natural viagra, and hilarity ensued. I think it did work though. The drink and jam sound delicious!

    1. I doubt chewing on those branches would result in anything other than diarrhea. Is that what happened on the show?

  4. That is a cool farmers market! Guava is my favorite tropical fruit next to passionfruit, I eat it like crazy when I visit family in Australia -otherwise it's not as good shipped all the way up here in BC, my Mom always complains you can't get papayas here like back home. Being able to buy it fresh or juiced! at a market is dreamy.

    1. I have yet to see fresh Guava (that I am aware of). Still gotta buy a Papaya. Passionfruit supposedly can ripen here, so maybe I will get to try it one day.

  5. What a great market!!! The guava jam sounds delicious and the drink sounds really refreshing! I love that there is an all vegan vendor and the fare looks really yummy! The banana bread is definitely calling my name.
